How to calculate your birth cards

The calculation is simple arithmetic, using your full date of birth. Add all the digits of the day, month, and year together, and reduce the sum to a number between 1 and 22:

• Step 1. Write your birth date as numbers. Example: June 15, 1990 → 06 / 15 / 1990.

• Two-digit sums give you two cards. If the total before final reduction is between 10 and 21, you get both cards: the reduced single-digit number is your soul card, and the two-digit number is your personality card. Example: a total of 19 gives you the Sun (19) and the Magician (1). If the total is exactly 22, your two cards are the Fool (22) and the Magician (2).

What your soul card and personality card mean

The two cards describe different layers of you:

• Soul card (single digit, 1–9). Your innermost nature — the lesson your soul keeps coming back to, your deepest motivation, the theme running under everything you do.
